ARTIST STATEMENT

My artwork is a tribute to the enduring allure of the historic West, seen through the lens of the resilient women who made it so.

My work weaves together the intricate threads of history and myth that have shaped Western identity. While history often shares stories of cowboys, miners, missionaries, etc., seldom do we hear these accounts from the perspective of the women who were part of them. Neither stands alone. My fascination is found in the narratives of the mothers, daughters, wives, and widows who were the backbone of these legendary tales.

It's my hope that my art will resonate with those who, like me, are captivated by the nostalgia of it all. In essence, my art is an homage to the West, a place where paradise begins.
